Today we have great news for fans of the first person shooter genre, as well as Nintendo 64 aficionados, as Acclaim Entertainment's Turok has just showed up, out of nowhere, on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

This version of Turok seems to be the remastered edition, which features some graphical enhancements that make the experience even better for both fans of the original and newcomer to the series, as it is published by Nightdive Studios — the same developer that worked on remastering the game in 2015.

Initially called Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, the game was relesed in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 and Microsoft Windows, and was developed by Iguana Entertainment; a division of Acclaim Entertainment that was later dissolved and became Team17 in 2011.

Nightdive Studios' Turok, for the Nintendo Switch, will be available for players to purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop on Monday the 18th of March

Turok is back and no dinosaur is safe! When it was first released in 1997, Turok introduced gamers to a world teeming with cunning enemies, traps, puzzles and deadly weapons all within a vast 3D environment ready to explore. Now the classic game has been restored and enhanced with a new visual engine and exciting new features to sink your teeth into!

Turok will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 18th of March
