Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield, Nintendo and Game Freak's highly anticipated new core title in the long-running Pokémon series, is only but a mere month away from releasing; becoming available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the
15th of November.
Nintendo has shared quite a bunch of information regarding this new entry in the series by releasing trailers and even dedicating two Nintendo Direct presentations for players to sink their teeth in and find out everything there is to know about it.
What we didn't know, however, was the size of the file for those players who are planning on purchasing the game digitally — that is, until now, as new information shared online has finally revealed how big these games are; players may need some extra space.
According to some download cards in Japan, the file size for
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield will require approximately 10.3GB of space; quite the massive games, considering that the Nintendo Switch only comes with 32GB of internal storage, and most titles on the console barely make it to 5GB in size.
These Pokémon download cards also confirm that Gothita and Turtonator will also be making an appearance in
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield — which is also exciting news for fans of the
Pocket Monster series.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 15th of November.
