Last week, Nintendo surprised their fans by announcing — while also confirming a rumour that had been doing the rounds for a while — Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which is a compilation that brings together Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy; three of their most critically acclaimed video games.
As if that wasn't enough, Nintendo also revealed that Super Mario 3D All-Stars would be releasing on Friday the 18th of September, and that both the physical and digital versions of the game would only be available for a limited time, since they will no longer be available after the 31st of March, 2021.
The fact that Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be a limited release, has seemed to have paid off for Nintendo, as it has recently been revealed that the highly anticipated title has already become the second best-selling game of the year on Amazon North America.
This is as official as it can be, as it comes from Amazon's official website. Interestingly enough, the best-selling game of 2020, so far, is Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In fact, most of the product on the retailer's Top 20 list of best-selling products are by Nintendo, but Super Mario 3D All-Stars being this high on the list is definitely surprising; considering it was announced a mere four days ago.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars being this popular on Amazon has definitely got to do with the fact that this is a limited release, which is definitely disappointing when we factor in that most of those sales are likely made by scarlpers who will resell the game at ridiculous prices. Whatever the case, if you want a physical copy of the game, you better pre-order it yesterday.
