Nintendo has just surprised fans by revealing what seems to be the biggest Super Mario Maker 2 update yet. The developer has revealed that this update will become available — completely free of charge, of course — on the 22nd of April, and it is bringing a lot of things that will get players more than excited for the release.
First things first, and what is probably the best addition of them all, Nintendo has added World Maker — which, as the name very appropriately suggests, will allow players to create worlds and fill them with the levels they've created.
What's more, Nintendo has also revealed that these worlds can be shared online for other players to complete; offering a wide variety of themes from the Super Mario Bros. series, such as underground, desert, snowy, and even outer space.
A new Super Mushroom will also be added to Super Mario Maker 2, which will transform Mario into his Super Mario Bros. 2(USA) counterpart. This Mario is only available on Super Mario Bros. themed levels, and he can pick up all kinds of enemies, much like he does in the game he stems from, and even throw snowballs in snow-themed courses.
The Frog Suit has also been added for Super Mario Bros. 3, Power Baloon for Super Mario World, and the Boomerang Flower for Super Mario 3D World levels, as the Cannon and Propeller boxes, Goomba Mask, the brand-new Bullet Mask, and the POW Box.
The good news don't end there, as Nintendo has also revealed that all seven of the Koopalings will also be added to Super Mario Maker 2. The trailer even shows us that Mario can fight all 7 at the same time, which will likely be abused by creators — and this is the reason why the game is so awesome.
Don't take my word for it, though, and be sure to check out this brand-new trailer for the last major update in Super Mario Maker 2.
