THE OUTER WORLDS For The Nintendo Switch Gets Launch Trailer, And Fans Are Showing Their Disappointment

Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds launched last week for the Nintendo Switch, but that hasn't stopped Nintendo from releasing a launch trailer today; fans, however, aren't happy about this.

If you have been following the news about the Nintendo Switch version of Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds, you will know that the game was a very ambitious project, but the port itself was not able to meet fan demands; nor mainstream players, to be quite fair.

The Outer Worlds launched on the Nintendo Switch last week — on Friday the 5th of June, to be more precise — and, prior to its release, the people over at Digital Foundry released an in-dept tech hanalysis about the game; lapidary, some may even agree.

According to Digital Foundry's analysis — which you can easily watch by clicking right here — the game was not able to run at a stable 30 frames per second, and the downgrade in the game's overall graphics was even distracting; again, not a good sign.

Now that The Outer Worlds has been available on the Nintendo Switch for almost a week, Nintendo has released a launch trailer for it, and fans aren't very hapy about this, or the content shown in the trailer.

As of this writing, the recently released launch trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds currently has over 800 thumbs down, as opposed to 1.3k thumbs up, and the comments aren't being too kind to the trailer itself.

The Nitnendo Switch version of The Outer Worlds was ported by Virtuos, which has a solid track record porting games. In fact, it is the same studio that successfully ported Dark Souls: Remastered to the Nintendo Switch, and also helped Ubisoft with the Switch version of Star Link: Battle for Atlas.

If anything, this recently released port of The Outer Worlds isn't really the studios' falut, especially since the game was revealed to have been indefinitely pushed back earlier this year on account of the coronavirus pandemic. With that said, it is disappointing to see players ripping on the game or the studio for the port.

Whatever the case, and in case you're still excited to play The Outer Worlds on the Nintendo Switch, don't forget to watch the launch trailer down below.
