In September of last year, Monolith Soft and Nintendo surprised fans by revealing that an enhanced version of the Nintendo Wii's critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles was currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch; releasing a trailer that left players excited for the upcoming title.
Besides the obvious changes done to the game's resolution, and even character models, Nintendo and Monolotih Soft promised to give players the very same experience the original Xenoblade Chronicles gave them all the way back in 2010, and once again when it was re-released for the Nintendo 3DS..
During last week's surprise Nintendo Direct Mini, the Monolith Soft released a brand-new trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition — revealing that this isn't just an enhanced version of the original game, as it will be featuring an epilogue episode called Future Connected.
Nintendo has now confirmed that Future Connected will be available to players as soon as they get Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition; meaning that players who have already played the original game will not have to complete it again in order to play the new episode.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will release on the 29th of May, and while we wait Nintendo has shared an in-game screenshot of the epilogue episode, so don't forget to open it on a different tab in order to see it in all of its high definition glory.
MONOLITHSOFT’s epic Xenoblade Chronicles game, which originally launched in 2012 on the Wii system, is destined to be reborn on Nintendo Switch as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The game, which chronicles the adventures of Shulk and Fiora, is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 29th of May.
