Ubisoft has revealed that
Anno 1800 is the fastest-selling game in the series so far, with 4 times as many players at launch as 2015's
Anno 2205, making
Anno 1800 not only a critically acclaimed title (sitting at a perfectly fine 81% score on Metacritic), but also one that's quite successful commercially.
The team at Ubisoft Blue Byte has released a special infographic, summarizing some of
Anno 1800's big accomplishments – as "
players have reached almost 7 billion citizens across their islands, more than three times the global population back in 1899," "
players have built over 10 million ships," "
players have built over 1 billion grain fields," with more than 3 million islands that have been settled on.

The sales of
Anno 1800 may bode well for the upcoming reboot of the
Settlers series, that is also being created by Blue Byte – but this time developed in Ubisoft Massive's Snowdrop engine, suggesting that it might be also available for Nintendo Switch, just like
