The Game Awards only began three years ago in 2014, but founder Geoff Keighley, who previously spearheaded Spike TV's Video Game Awards for a decade, has used his industry connections to quickly turn it into the premiere video game awards ceremony.
That's thanks in part to the big trailer reveals and game announcements that accompany the awards show each year. This year, there were certainly lots of titles and reveals that were predicted and obvious but there were also a fair share of surprises and unexpected announcements.
