Gamers eager to try out
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's new 2v2 Gunfight mode, which has been a point of focus for many of Activision's livestreams, will be able to do so this Friday on PlayStation 4.
Announced at Gamescom, the
Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha Test will roll out exclusively to PlayStation 4 owners on August 23 at 10:00 PDT. Preloading will be available hours before the official launch. As a fully Open Alpha, the only requirement to get in is that you must be playing on PlayStation 4 (and have internet connection).
During the Alpha Test, a total of five maps will be playable: King, Pine, and Stack (previously revealed), along with Speedball and Docks (never publicly seen before). Players will have access to multiple Operators and at least one game mode to play with "Pickup" variant mode scheduled. Activision also promises "other surprises" will be added throughout the weekend.
The
Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha Test will run only through Sunday, August 25.
If you play on either Xbox One or PC, the first chance you'll get to go hands on with
Modern Warfare will be during the Open beta, which launches in September. Here's the current Open Beta schedule, with specific timing still to be announced.

-
September 12 to September 13: PS4 Early Access.
-
