Ever since the announcement trailer for Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima dropped at PGW last year, fans of the developers behind hit releases like Infamous have been itching to learn more about the game set in feudal Japan.
Thankfully, at their E3 showcase, Sony revealed the first exciting piece of footage from the highly anticipated game with an exciting and blood-soaked trailer.
The latest trailer opens up during the ninth day of the Mongol Invasion and follows the samurai Jin as he embarks on a dangerous rescue mission. However, Jin is soon betrayed by the woman he believed was his ally— Masako. From there, the two engage in a deadly and ultra-realistic fight.
Check out the visually stunning trailer below:
The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan — until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting — the way of the Ghost — as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.
