After a long wait since The Last of Us Part II was initialloy revealed, during the PlayStation Experience in 2016, the sequel to the critically acclaimed survival horror game by Naughty Dog is only a couple of weeks away from finally becoming available; launching as a PlayStation 4 exclusive game on Friday the 19th of June.
Naughty Dog and PlayStation have been sharing a bunch of new details about the long-awaited title, which have given fans of the series a better idea of what to expect from The Last of Us Part II, and also to get them excited by sharing videos that feature some gameplay.
Earlier today, in fact, PlayStation released a short video for The Last of Us Part II — where we see the game's main protagonist, Ellie, playing a song by British band New order, and reminiscing about her time with Dina, which also featured an exciting action sequence that kept us on the edge of our seats.
Now, PlayStation has shared yet another video in the Inside The Last of Us Part II mini series, which sees the developers at Naughty Dog talking about different aspects of the upcoming title — who have focused, this time, on the game's beautifully realised world.
Take a look:
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
The Last of Us Part II is expected to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on the 19th of June.
