The Last of Us Part II is only a mere 10 days away from finally becoming available for the PlayStation 4, giving fans the chance to revisit the unforgiving world the developers at Naughty Dog have created, and reconnect with the first game's main characters they've come to know and love.
Considering that the game is becoming available next week, there isn't much information about The Last of Us Part II that Naughty Dog can reveal that players don't already know; especially for those players who were spoilt by the massive leak that gave away key plot points.
Neil Druckmann, Creative Director for The Last of Us Part II, has even reassured fans that the game's ending isn't out there just yet, so the information that was leaked may be somewhat misleading and may not reflect the end product which is definitely reassuring.
During a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Druckmann talked a little bit about what's in store for him at Naughty Dog now that development for The Last of Us Part II has already wrapped up. Interestingly enough, he has not ruled out the possibility of a sequel to the upcoming, and highly anticipated survival horror game.
"As you start wrapping things up, creatively there are fewer and fewer responsibilities and my mind can't help but think about the next thing. So, yeah, the next thing could be a Part III[The Last of Us], the next thing could be some new IP," Druckmann revealed.
Naughty Dog has already embraced a more cinematic type of video game with their Uncharted and The Last of Us series, so it would be nice seeing them exploring other types of games and genres like their Crash Bandicoot(now owned by Activision) and Jak and Daxter series that mainly focused on platforming. We'll have to wait and see what they do next.
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
The Last of Us Part II is expected to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on the 19th of June.
