It seems that not everybody will be able to play Naughty Dog's highly anticipated The Last of Us Part II, as new information suggests that the long-awaited title will not be releasing in the Middle East, but the contradictions are what make this piece of news more interesting.
As it turns out, The Last of Us Part II does not show up on PlayStation's official list of games to release for the PlayStation 4, so Middle Eastern players can't actually pre-purchase the game right now. What's even more interesting, is that the game has been promoted by the official PlayStation Arabia Twitter account.
In fact, PlayStation Arabia has tweeted about the special The Last of Us Part II-focused State of Play presentation that will be streamed this Wednesday, so there's no reason to believe that the game will not be launching in the Middle East as information suggests.
Here's the kicker, though, since Reddit user /ghostechful contacted PlayStation Support to ask them why The Last of Us Part II wasn't featured on the list of upcoming titles, and the answer the user got was that games not showing up on the list have been banned.
According to PlayStation Support, The Last of Us Part II may have been banned by competent authorities of the country in question, and that if the game has been, indeed, been banned, they cannot do anything about it.
Again, the official PlayStation Arabia Twitter account has shared about the special State of Play presentation that will focus on The Last of Us Part II. Does this guarantee that the game will release in the Middle East? Probably not, but this is still sour news for Middle Eastern players.
