The Last of Us Part II will be releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in just over a month's time. Recently, the upcoming sequel was subject to a huge leak which seemed to spill the game's entire plot out onto the internet. Levels, cutscenes, screenshots, and more were revealed. Though, Naughty Dog insists that the leak isn't representative of the finished product.

In a similar vein to the studio and game director Neil Druckmann's comments, Troy Baker recently responded to the leak during an Instagram livestream (via @OfficialTroyBaker). Baker is known for voicing many iconic video game characters but none more so than Joel from The Last of Us. Of course, he has reprised the role for the sequel — along with Ashley Johnson as Ellie.

On the leaks, the voice actor said the following: "Oh dude, it doesn't matter. Look, if you think that game can be ruined by a couple of screenshots... really? A studio with thirty plus years of development, with so many awards under their belt they can't even put them all in one trophy closet."

Essentially, Baker insists that the leaks aren't representative of the whole game — just as Naughty Dog themselves did. The studio is known for their amazing games. Baker supposes that The Last of Us Part II is no different to their back catalogue.

"This is the biggest, most ambitious game they've ever done. You really think that that experience can be undone by a couple of screenshots? Think six years of development can be undone by that? It's a game, it's a game. You have to experience it. That's all I'm gonna say."

While quite a significant bit more than just a couple of screenshots leaked online; we understand Baker's sentiment and hope that it holds true — come June 19th.

Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

The Last of Us Part II is set to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on June 19th, 2020.
