Last month, we found out a bunch of exciting information about the long-awaited and highly anticipated sequel to
The Last of Us. Unfortunately, we also found out that
The Last of Us Part II will be releasing on May 29th, 2020 rather than its initially announced release date of February 21st, 2020 —
more on the delay here.
There hasn't been a whole lot of news about
The Last of Us Part II this month. However, some new concept art recently surfaced online which reveals some stunning environments. Last month, we found out that enemies will make use of dogs during the game's combat scenarios but what about the player? Well, a notable inclusion in one of the pieces of concept art is a dog at Ellie's side.
These pieces are only concept art and by nature were created during production of
The Last of Us Part II in order for developers and writers to visualise what they're working on. Therefore, a canine companion might have been considered at one point in development but won't feature in the final product. However, it would be an awesome thing to include — so, here's hoping.
Check out the concept art below (via
Push Square):
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.
When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
The Last of Us Part II will release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on May 29th, 2020.
