The Last of Us Part II is almost upon us, as Naughty Dog's highly anticipated, and long-awaited survival horror title launches for the PlayStation 4, as an exclusive title, this Friday the 19th of June — and the reviews have actually been quite kind to the game; currently with a score of 96/100 on Metacritic.
Now that the game is only a mere 4 days away from becoming available, PlayStation has shared a rather interesting video that revisits the original The Last of Us — that released on a 14th of June in 2013 — with Chandler Riggs, who played Carl Grimes in Fox's hit series The Walking Dead, sharing his experiences with the game.
One of the things that catches Riggs' attention, is that he can definitely tell that the actors playing the characters in The Last of Us were really passionate about what they were doing; conveying all the right emotions, and pouring their hearts and souls into their performances.
The young The Walking Dead actor also reveals that one of his favourite scenes from The Last of Us is the hertbreaking moment between Henry and Sam — which, to be quite fair, is one of the most emotional moments in the entire game.
Interestingly enough, Riggs also mentions that having been part of a zombie show didn't really help him get through the game as one may assume, since most of the infected in The Last of Us are runners who don't just shamble around.
Chandler Riggs also reveals that he's played The Last of Us four times already, and that he's very excited to play the sequel; revealing that he can't wait to know more about the new characters introduced, and gushing over how good The Last of Us Part II looks.
Have a look:
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.
The Last of Us Part II is expected to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on Friday the 19th of June.
