Sucker Punch and Sony Entertainment Interactive's Ghost of Tsushima is one of the console's most beloved additions to their esteemed library of exclusives. From top to bottom, the game features a powerful and emotional story and polished gameplay that is not only fitting for the location; but authentic enough to feel like you are, in fact, a samurai (or ninja) in feudal Japan. All of these accolades don't even have don't even consider the beautiful and vibrant locations on the island of Tsushima.
Since its release, the game broke multiple sales records and has been considered the best game to cap off the lifespan of the PS4, which features other fantastic titles such as God of War, Infamous: Second Son, Horizon Zero Dawn, and so many more. Now, with a multiplayer and New Game+ component added, there is even more, to discover in the new game. With the PS5 released, The New York Times has interviewed some of the higher-ups of Sony, and they discussed the success of the Playstation brand.
During the interview, there were a lot of topics that were discussed, including the sales of some of the games that have come out. It was revealed during the chat that Ghost of Tsushima has actually sold over 5 million copies so far! In praising their game library, it was stated, “Sony attributes much of its success over the last console generation to the popularity of its exclusive game franchises, including stalwarts like God of War (more than 51 million copies sold) and newcomers like Ghost of Tsushima, with more than five million copies sold since its debut in July."
