Sony is reportedly planning to temporarily slash the price of its PlayStation 5 console for the holidays. While the video game publisher has not yet announced its holiday discounts, Dealabs Magazine's billbil-kun is reporting that the PS5 could see a $100 discount for Black Friday in the United States.

According to the French leaker, the recently revealed Fortnite Flower Chaos PS5 Bundle will be available at a steep discount this holiday season. For those who missed the announcement, the bundle includes a PS5 console, 1,000 V-Bucks, and a matching cosmetic set. You can check out the reveal trailer below:

According to billbil-kun, the PS5 with disc drive Flower Chaos Bundle will be available for $450, while the digital bundle will cost $400. That represents $100 discount for both models. The bundle is set to launch on November 22, which is probably when we can also expect Sony's Black Friday deals to go live.

The savings offer a temporary reprieve for price-conscious consumers who have been hit hard by U.S. tariffs, but in the bigger picture, the discount merely brings the PS5’s price back to what it was at launch five years ago.

Back in August, Sony announced that it would be increasing the price of its PlayStation 5 consoles in the United States, citing “a challenging economic environment.” The price of the PS5 with a disc drive rose to $549.99, while the Digital Edition increased to $499.99 — a $50 and $100 hike, respectively.

The PlayStation 5 Pro also saw its price increased from $699.99 to $749.99. However, there's been no mention of a Black Friday discount for the PS5 Pro yet.

These Black Friday prices have not yet been announced by Sony yet, so treat this as rumor for now. It's also possible that major retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will offer their own unique deals for the PS5 and its accessories as well.

While we await the actual Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals to get announced, Sony has meanwhile launched its November Savings Sale. Live now through November 21st, the sale sees thousands of PS5 and PS4 games, add-ons, and virtual currency discounted by as much as 80%.

In the meantime, Nintendo has revealed its own plans for the holidays. The publisher is offering a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World for $449.99, a $50 savings from the bundle's normal cost. Select games for the Switch will also be available at a discount.
