Sonic the Hedgehog arrived in theatres on February 14th and went on to become the highest-grossing movie based on a video game property of all-time — after surpassing the total domestic earnings of Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. Earlier today, we reported that the movie is now available to purchase, download, and own digitally

However, the movie's physical home release won't be with us until May 19th — more on that here. Elsewhere in Sonic the Hedgehog movie news; Microsoft recently announced a collaboration with SEGA wherein they will be giving away a limited edition console based on the aforementioned video game movie.

Specifically, it's an Xbox One X as well as a controller which both feature some nifty decals. Both of the items are an awesome, gaseous blue and the console itself features Sonic the Hedgehog himself right on the top of it.

All that you have to do in order to be in with a chance of winning this limited edition console is retweet the below social media post along with the following hastag: #SonicXboxSweepstakes. A single winner will be chosen on April 14th when entries will no longer be accepted — so act fast!

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog is now available digitally — Blu-ray and Ultra 4K HD release set for May 19th, 2020.
