We were primed to attend some of the local Midnight Mayhem events for Gears of War 2, but something came up and we missed out.
We were pretty bummed about it until we got a call this morning from our brother who happened to run down to Wal-Mart to get his copy this morning. They still had tons of the Gears of War 2 swag, including a drink cooler/wrap, can-opener, lanyeard (to hold badges, etc) and the cards with the Gold Hammerburst code!
Needless to say, we ran down right away to see if we could get our hands on them at another Wal-Mart near by. We looked all over and couldn't find them. Not only that, we had a hard time finding a copy of Gears of War 2 (it ended up being at the bottom of the Xbox 360 game case)!
Finally we asked one of the employees. They had no clue what we were talking about, but they asked another employee who at least knew where the stuff was. It was behind the counter in a non-descript brown box! We got one of each item, and two Hammerburst Cards/codes and were on our merry way (note that they are FREE)!
Right now we know that Gamestop and Wal-Mart has the Gears of War 2 swag and Gold Hammerburst codes, so, if you are so inclined, head down and get yours!
