While it's been already revealed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection would be finally coming to PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), it's still unclear when exactly each game will launch. Microsoft and 343 Industries won't release all the games at once, but will roll out one title at a time instead.
According to Splash Damage (the British video game developer best-known for their work on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Brink), all the Halo: The Master Chief Collection games will be available on PC before the end of the year. Considering that Splash Damage is currently working on the port (alongside 343 Industries and Ruffian Games), they are definitely well oriented in the situation.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will feature Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (only campaign), Halo: Reach, and finally Halo: 4. The release cycle will start with Halo: Reach, while the rest of the Halo games will be released on PC in chronological order.
As revealed by Microsoft, the Master Chief’s epic journey will be brought together with a total of 67 campaign missions plus more than 120 multiplayer maps, including those from Halo: Combat Evolved.
The Master Chief’s epic journey covers six Halo games, collected here in a single integrated experience built for PC. Whether you’re a long-time fan or are meeting the Master Chief for the first time, The Master Chief Collection is the definitive Halo gaming experience.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available for Xbox One NOW; coming to PC (Steam and the Microsoft Store) at a later date.
