MASS EFFECT LEGENDARY EDITION Remastered Comparison Trailer Shows Off Massive Visual Improvement

A new trailer for Mass Effect Legendary Edition shows off the visual upgrades of the upcoming remaster of EA's beloved sci-fi trilogy. Check out the remastered comparison trailer in 4K below!

The original Mass Effect released in 2007. The second and third games in the beloved sci-fi trilogy released in 2010 and 2012, respectively. So naturally, it's expected that EA's remastered Mass Effect Legendary Edition will have quite a noticeable leap in visual fidelity.

What fans may not be ready for is just how good this remaster looks. EA released this week a new trailer comparing the original games with the new remastered Legendary Edition. The differences are incredible.

We've heard for a while now that Mass Effect Legendary Edition will boast 4K resolution with enhanced visuals, textures, and models. But it's hard to really appreciate what that means until you see it for yourself, especially compared to the original games.

From the lighting to the textures to the weather effects, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is better-looking in every way imaginable. The trailer specifically calls out the in-world beautification passes as well as improved materials and particle effects. For the characters, you'll notice improved skin rendering and a more realistic surface response, more detailed 3D models, and eye-shader improvements. The lighting for worlds and cutscenes have also been drastically adjusted and look much better.

One person is all that stands between humanity and the greatest threat it’s ever faced. Relive the legend of Commander Shepard in the highly acclaimed Mass Effect trilogy with the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Includes single-player base content and over 40 DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 games, including promo weapons, armors, and packs – remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition packs all three games in the Commander Shepard trilogy along with over 40 DLC packages that were released for them. It will be available on May 14 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam. It will be playable on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 as well.
