Sony's Live-Action UNCHARTED Movie Taps BUMBLEBEE Director Travis Knight
Following Dan Trachtenberg's departure last month, Sony has officially recruited Bumblebee and Kubo and The Two Strings director Travis Knight to take the helm of their forthcoming Uncharted adaptation.
Despite having a bankable star in Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) Sony's planned adaptation of Naught Dog's critically acclaimed video game series Uncharted has faced a lot of difficulties behind the scenes, as numerous directors have exited the project. However, with a new director now reportedly set to fill the hole left by Dan Trachtenberg's departure, things may be looking up for the live-action film.
According to Deadline, Travis Knight, who is best known for helming Bumblebee and the animated feature Kubo and The Two Strings has signed on to direct the Tom Holland-led Uncharted movie.
While this is certainly a major shake-up behind the camera, it appears Knight will still be sticking to the script from Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins for now, which reportedly tells the tale of a young Nathan Drake.
As of today Uncharted is still expected to hit theaters on December 18, 2020.
