Yet another new draft of the Uncharted movie screenplay has been completed. The latest iteration comes from Joe Carnahan, who's best known for directing The Grey and Smokin' Aces.

Other Hollywood creatives that have worked on the script include David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Marianna and Cormac Wibberley (National Treasure), Mark Boal, Naughty Dog's own Neil Druckmann and now Carnahan.  That's a total of six different writers/writing teams over the film's last 8 years of development.  Will the pairing of Carnahan and Shawn Levy finally be the team to get the project off the ground?

Hopefully the route taken is style and substance over explosions and vfx as recent video game movie releases have struggled to deliver profitable returns at the box office.

Carnahan wrote on Instagram, "Done and Dusted. Now the REAL work begins. If there's a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, 'cuz this thing is a BEAST."
