Titled RocketID, Psyonix's crossplay feature was initially scheduled to launch this year. However, in order to ensure that it operated flawlessly, the studio decided to push back the release to early 2019.

The good news is that with Sony's recent announcements regarding full cross-platform functionality, we can now make additional changes to prepare RocketID for ALL platforms should we receive permission to do so! We’re working incredibly hard to ensure that it’s as intuitive, stable, and polished as possible, before releasing it to the world. We know the wait has been frustrating for many of you who are eager for this feature, and we thank you for your patience as we continue to work on cross-platform support.
This is a huge development for the gaming industry as a whole.
Rocket League is one of the most popular games on the market and is active in the eSports scene. By making it a prominent crossplay title, surely this will encourage other major publishers to do the same. Ultimately, we the players will enjoy the benfits of playing with others on different platforms.
Finally, the next
Rocket Pass Season starts in December and will bring new items, challenges and Premium DLC. In addition, an in-game event called
Frosty Fest 2018 starts mid-December. Players will earn Snowflakes while playing matches online and redeem them for Holiday-themed gifts.
