While known more for its anime and manga, the hit sports franchise, Inazuma Eleven, also has a video game franchise that has recently had some issues getting some proper footing. The franchise follows a team of young soccer club players as they blow past each opponent for ultimate victory.
Since its debut, the franchise has been a huge hit in the sports genre of anime and manga. The most recent title, Inazuma Eleven: Aries no Tenbin, was meant to release in 2018; however, due to multiple delays, it seems that its debut has been held off to next year.
Sadly, its mobile release, Inazuma Eleven SD, will also be forced to discontinue its service before even concluding its full year! Players who made in-game purchases will be given a full refund following the game's shut down, and for now, it seems there are no other mobile titles on the horizon.
Hopefully, the future will bode well for the soccer franchise that has endless potential to be a juggernaut in the sports game genre. Make sure to share your thoughts on the news in the comments below!
In the story of both the anime and the game, protagonist Asuto Inamori's soccer club is disbanded after the school's soccer field is destroyed. He and friends go to Tokyo to attend Raimon-chuu (Raimon Junior High) to play soccer. The story is set after the first Inazuma Eleven anime and game.
Inazuma Eleven SD will be ending its service on December 1st!
