Niantic has unveiled the Raid Day schedule for May 2026 in Pokémon GO, along with a look ahead at the upcoming Pokémon GO Fest 2026 events. The month features two dedicated Raid Days and a strong rotation of Five-Star and Mega Raids, keeping trainers busy as the game builds toward its 10th anniversary celebrations in July.

May 2 - Entei Shadow Raid Day

From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, Shadow Entei will take center stage in Shadow Raids. This Fire-type Legendary from the Johto region has been heavily featured recently, including as an April GO Pass reward. The event offers an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Entei. The Remote Raid limit will also be temporarily raised to 20 during the event window. Additionally, Shadow Cresselia will appear in Shadow Raids from May 6 through June 2.

May 23 - Mega Raid Day

A full Mega Raid Day is planned, though specific details on the featured Pokémon have not yet been revealed. Throughout May, the following Mega Evolutions will rotate weekly in Mega Raids:

  • Mega Camerupt
  • Mega Glalie
  • Mega Altaria
  • Mega Medicham

Five-Star Raids will spotlight Alolan Pokémon for part of the month, featuring Nihilego, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini globally. From May 13 to 19, regional variants will appear:

  • Buzzwole in the Americas and Greenland
  • Pheromosa in Europe, the Middle East, and India
  • Xurkitree in Asia-Pacific regions

Niantic also provided an early look at Pokémon GO Fest 2026, the game’s flagship in-person and global event series. The first in-person event kicks off in Tokyo at the end of May, followed by events in Chicago and Copenhagen in June. A Global event will follow in July, allowing players worldwide to participate from home.

The 2026 edition is expected to place a major focus on Mewtwo, with strong speculation that Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y could finally debut in Pokémon GO. While Mega Evolutions have been part of the game for years, the powerful Psychic-type has remained exclusive to the mainline games until now. A debut during GO Fest would be a major milestone for the mobile title as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.

In addition to the raid content, May features two Community Day events:

  • May 9 – Lechonk Community Day
  • May 16 – Community Day Classic (Pokémon not yet revealed)

With two Raid Days, rotating Five-Star and Mega Raids, and the first GO Fest 2026 events on the horizon, May is shaping up to be a packed month for Pokémon GO trainers. The combination of Shadow Entei opportunities, new Mega Raid rotations, and the tease of Mega Mewtwo makes this a particularly exciting period as the game heads toward its milestone anniversary.

Trainers should mark their calendars for the May 2 Shadow Raid Day and prepare for the Mega Raid Day on May 23. More details on the full GO Fest 2026 schedule and potential Mega Mewtwo debut are expected in the coming weeks.
