Ever since its original release in September of 2019, Nintendo has been committed to keep adding new content to Mario Kart Tour; from new characters and karts to classic race tracks and improvements that make the experience better for players.
A few months ago Nintendo finally added the long-requested Landcape Mode to Mario Kart Tour, which finally allowed players the chance to play the game holding their mobile device horizontally; a feature that many players agree should've been available since launch.
As they keep adding content to the popular game, Nintendo announced last week, during the very surprising Super Mario 35th Anniversary Direct presentation, a brand-new tour for the popular Mario Kart Tour mobile game; celebrating the series' early beginnings with the "Super Mario Kart Tour."
This "Super Mario Kart Tour" was revealed to include 16-bit versions of Mario and Donkey Kong Jr. — as seen in the original Super Mario Kart game that released for the Super Nintendo all the way back in 1992 — and also introducing a retro-looking pipe kart like the one featured in the first Mario Kart game.
Today the "Super Mario Kart Tour" has finally become available in Mario Kart Tour, and Nintendo has shared a new trailer that showcases the 16-bit versions of Mario and Donkey Kong Jr., plus the new retro-looking pipe kart; taking us all back to the early 1990s.
