Since the release of the original game, in 2010, the NieR franchise has been quietly adding to its ever-expansive and unique lore. It wasn't until 2017, with the release of NieR: Automata, that the franchise exploded in popularity in the west.
Since then, the series has skyrocketed in fame with characters like 2B appearing in games such as Soul Calibur VI. Following the success of the new game, developers at Square Enix have been hard at work on a new smartphone game titled NieR Re[in]carnation.
The new mobile game is a brand new platform for the franchise to enter, but the creator has stated that over anything, the story will play a significant part in development. The look of the game gives the player console-quality graphics and gameplay as the story entwines more and more into the narrative of NieR. Beta testing will be available to 20,000 selected players and will run from July 29th to August 5th.
A brand new, English subtitled trailer to the game was also released that features a ton of new footage. Make sure to check out the brand new footage, and don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments!
