Over the past couple of weeks, there's been a private investigation ongoing in Clash of Clans. Over on the game's social media channels, developer Supercell has been sharing various clues for something big on the way. We now know what it is!
Town Hall 17 is coming to Clash of Clans with the December 2024 winter update. Our private minion investigator confirmed the news in a video, sharing some "surveillance shots" he has gathered. Unfortunately, the teaser video doesn't reveal much about Town Hall 17 or the incoming update. But more news will be coming soon!
Supercell confirmed that sneak peeks for the contents of the December 2024 update will be arriving as early as tomorrow, Friday, November 22nd. Details and information will be shared via Clash of Clans content creators, so be sure to stay tuned over the next couple of days!
Of course, some details have already begun to leak over the Clash of Clans subreddit. Assuming the leaks are true when upgrading to Town Hall 17, the Eagle Artillery will be merged with the Town Hall. We're not quite sure about the details of this merge, but that's one major update. One of the benefits of merging these will be to reduce building space below the 100 cap, allowing Supercell to introduce new buildings without affecting the percentage of attacks. The images also leak new defense levels, troops, increased Hero levels, and more.
The arrival of Town Hall 17 comes just one year after Supercel l introduced Town Hall 16 in the December 2023 update. Town Hall 16 featured a nature theme and added a Giga Inferno weapon that unleashed massive area of effect damage.
Town Hall 17 will merge the Eagle Artillery, but we're not quite sure exactly what the effects will be. Meanwhile, with a new Town Hall, there will almost certainly be new upgrade levels for buildings, defenses, and units across your home village. There may even be a few surprises, like new troops or defenses. The previously shared clues on social media have certainly sparked speculation.
Supercell has already confirmed the sneak peeks will begin on Friday. These sneak peeks usually last about a week or so, followed by a bit of downtime to make sure the update is ready to go.
If all goes as planned, we can probably expect the December 2024 update and Town Hall 17 to arrive in early December. Last year's update came on December 12th, but previous updates have landed on December 12th (2022), December 8th (2021), and December 10th (2020).
