A lot has happened this year for
Niantic Inc.'s popular mobile game,
Pokemon Go, from new Pokemon to connecting more with their playerbase with
Community Days, the introduction of trading and friends lists, and of course the introduction to Field and Special Research Tasks, which leads in to today's announcement: the release of the second Mythical Pokemon, Celebi!
As with the Special Research Tasks that helped unlock Mew, the first Mythical Pokemon, for trainers, there will be a new extensive list of tasks to unlock the "Voice of the Forest," a nickname from the Anime series for Celebi. Don't worry if you haven't completed your tasks to catch Mew though, they can be done concurrently. There is no word on what types of tasks are to be completed, but for Mew there were 7 Steps of three tasks (totaling to 21) that needed to be finished in order to encounter Mew.
Celebi's Special Research Tasks will be available starting from
Monday, August 20th, assumed to unlock at 1 PM PDT, as that is the usual time in which server side updates have affected the game.
