Trainers heading to the in-person Pokemon GO Wild Area events next month have some new details to plan around. The official Pokemon GO account shared how the Stamp Rallies will work in Sendai and Mexico City yesterday, and there is an important catch for anyone who bought the Extra Day add-on.
How The Stamp Rallies Work
The Stamp Rallies for both the Sendai, Tohoku event and the Mexico City event will be active from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time on each player's main ticketed event day. That gives attendees a couple of extra hours beyond the event's core gameplay window to finish collecting stamps.
However, players who purchased the Extra Day gameplay add-on will not get an additional Stamp Rally on that extra day. If you are planning to complete the rally, make sure you do it on the day printed on your main ticket.
For the Sendai event specifically, the GO Stamp Rally will be available at PokeStops in Sendai City. That is worth noting because the event's gameplay area covers a much wider region across Miyagi Prefecture, so players exploring farther out will need to head back into the city to collect their stamps.
The In-Person Wild Area Events
Pokemon GO Wild Area: Sendai and Pokemon GO Wild Area: Mexico City both take place from November 6th to November 8th, with gameplay running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. Tickets for the Sendai event cost 4,000 yen, but anyone who has not already grabbed a ticket is out of luck, since both cities have sold out.
The city events are expected to feature special appearances, including Hisuian Sliggoo and Hisuian Goodra, making them a big draw for collectors who want to fill out their Pokedex.
Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global Is Coming Too
Trainers who cannot travel to Japan or Mexico will still get to join in. Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global takes place on November 14th and 15th, with a ticket priced at $11.99. Here are some of the highlights.
- Gigantamax Duraludon makes its debut in six-star Max Battles
- Dynamax Dialga appears on Saturday, while Dynamax Palkia takes over on Sunday
- Machamp wearing a modern jacket appears in three-star raids
- Mighty Pokemon can be caught using GO Safari Balls
- Ticket holders can encounter Mighty Latias and Mighty Latios
- Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem appear in raids, along with Black Kyurem and White Kyurem
- Steel and Dragon hours give those types a spotlight throughout the event
The Kyurem raids are tied to Fusion Energy, which players can use to fuse Kyurem into its Black and White forms, and Kyurem can learn the move Glaciate during the event. Special Backgrounds will also be available for certain Pokemon caught during the event.
Ticket holders get extra bonuses as well, including double candy, six Raid Passes and reduced Stardust costs for trades, among other perks. Daily Discoveries will also be paused from November 9th to November 15th to make room for the event.
Planning Your Wild Area Weekend
For players attending in person, the Stamp Rally timing makes it easier to balance raids, catching and exploring with the rally itself. Since stamps are tied to the main ticketed day, anyone attending multiple days should prioritize the rally on that specific date.
The global event a week later is also a great chance for everyone else to grab Gigantamax Duraludon, which is sure to be one of the most sought-after Max Battle bosses of the year. Six-star Max Battles are tough, so lining up a group of friends ahead of time is a good idea.
