Keep an eye on the tree line. Slender Man has officially joined Fortnite, and the tall, faceless horror icon is available in the Item Shop right now.
Epic Games announced the arrival on the official Fortnite account last night, joking that the suit-wearing creature is looking pretty sharp for a metaphysical horror monster.
Slender Man Cosmetics And Prices
The Slender Man outfit costs 1,500 V-Bucks on its own. It comes with selectable styles and carries a fitting description that simply reads "Be careful in the forest." The outfit is part of the Epic rarity tier.
Two extra cosmetics are also available alongside it.

- Slender Tendrils: 800 V-Bucks
- Slender Man Bundle: 2,000 V-Bucks
Buying everything separately would cost 2,700 V-Bucks, so the bundle saves players 700 V-Bucks for anyone who wants the full set. Fans who want to haunt the island with the complete look should go with the bundle.
As always, Item Shop offers in Fortnite rotate, so there is no guarantee Slender Man will stick around for long once the Halloween season ends.
Fortnitemares Keeps Getting Scarier
Slender Man's arrival is part of Fortnitemares, the game's annual Halloween celebration, which is running during Chapter 7 Season 4 alongside the v42.40 update. This year's event has been stacked with horror content, and Slender Man is only the latest addition.
Earlier this week, Nikki from the horror movie Obsession also landed in Fortnite, making it a busy stretch for horror fans looking to add some scary characters to their locker.
Epic has also been highlighting creator-made islands built around the spooky season. The official Fortnite account shared a new video promoting its Thrills & Chills islands, inviting players to hunt werewolves, escape zombies and survive the scares across a lineup of Halloween experiences.
Fans who pick up the Slender Man outfit now have the perfect place to show it off. Dropping into a dark forest map as the faceless figure should be enough to give a few unsuspecting players a scare.
A Perfect Fit For Horror Modes
Slender Man may be one of the best horror additions Fortnite has had in a while when it comes to roleplay. His design is instantly recognizable even from a distance, and his long, thin silhouette stands out in a way that most outfits do not.
That makes him a natural pick for community-made horror maps, hide-and-seek islands and prop hunt modes, where creators and players love to set up spooky scenarios. Expect plenty of players to show up in forest maps over the next few weeks, standing perfectly still between the trees and waiting for someone to notice. The selectable styles also give players a few ways to customize the look, so not every Slender Man on the island will look exactly the same.
From Internet Legend To Battle Royale
Slender Man first appeared in 2009 on the Something Awful forums, where Eric Knudsen created the character for a Photoshop contest under the name Victor Surge. The tall figure in a black suit with no face and long tendrils quickly spread across the internet, becoming one of the first and most famous creepypasta legends.
The character later inspired the hit indie horror game Slender: The Eight Pages in 2012, which helped popularize the genre of first-person horror games where players collect items while being hunted. Slender Man also got his own movie in 2018.
Seeing him dance and build in Fortnite is a strange evolution for a character who was originally designed to be lurking just out of view in grainy photos, but it also shows how much of a pop culture staple he has become.
