Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is crossing into two live-service shooters soon. The official account posted a Fortnite tease on September 12 and an Overwatch date on September 13. Here is what we know about the collabs so far.
The Fortnite is the collab coming very soon. The caption for the collab told Fortnite to upgrade it's Override security because a netrunner called it child's play, then offered her services for a consult. There will be a Lucy outfit plus Rebecca's guns. Epic has not posted a day for the release. Dataminers pointed at the September 17 patch. We will see what all comes when it is officially announced.
Overwatch is the collab that arrives in 2027. The Edgerunners account put David next to Talia and wrote that heroes never die, then added that Edgerunners are a different story. The crews from the first series and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 join Overwatch in 2027. So we will probably see more teasers and what characters are dressed up as who as the date nears. Some fans have tied the collab to the wider Blizzard and CD Projekt Red week: Cyberpunk 2077 on Battle.net later this year, Geralt as a Diablo IV Barbarian skin, The Witcher 3 Remastered on the same launcher.
For fans that enjoy anime, Edgerunners 2 premieres on Netflix on October 20. Ten episodes. Studio Trigger is on it again. The new season follows Weak, a washed-up legend living without chrome, and brings Talia Yang into the mask. The Overwatch teaser putting Talia next to David is how CDPR is selling both seasons as one cosmetic line instead of a 2022 nostalgia pack.
This is not the first shooter collab. Edgerunners already hit Guilty Gear Strive, Wuthering Waves, and Apex Legends. Night City characters as skins is a known product. Overwatch in 2027 extends that into Blizzard's hero shooter a full year after the sequel drops. Fortnite gets Lucy while the new season is still in the marketing window.
