Fortnite has another crossover on the way, and this one comes from the world of monster-taming RPGs. Netmarble's Mongil: Star Dive announced during its Developer Lounge Talk livestream on October 14 that it is collaborating with Fortnite, and Epic Games confirmed the news on X a few hours later. Neither company has shared what the collaboration includes or when it starts.
The Epic Games Store account posted the announcement with artwork pairing the two logos. Check it out below:
The official Mongil: Star Dive account followed with its own post, writing "MONGIL: STAR DIVE is coming to Fortnite!" alongside a key visual that shows the Mongil: Star Dive and Fortnite logos with Epic Games Store branding underneath. During the stream, the developers described it as the first collaboration between Mongil: Star Dive and Fortnite and said more details will be shared later.
What Else Was Revealed At The Half Anniversary Stream
The Fortnite news was part of a bigger stream celebrating the game's Half Anniversary. Development PD Lee Dongjo and Business Director Kang Donggi hosted the broadcast in Korean, and the full replay is available with auto-translated subtitles on the official channel:
The biggest in-game reveal was Chloe, a new Wind attribute brawler who arrives with the next update on October 21. The official account describes her as "Nirvan's little hero, who never loses hope no matter what hardship she faces," a girl who kept fighting even as Nirvan fell. Her kit is built around fast, punchy martial arts, building up Hit Energy with her attacks to power a special skill. The developers stressed that the version shown on stream was still being tuned.
The same update brings a Halloween event called Night March, with a Halloween costume for one of the existing characters and minigames to go with it. The team also showed off new Half Anniversary merchandise and answered player questions. They said Wind team balance is still being looked at, a walking mode has been made but does not have a version number yet, and the PlayStation 5 version is in progress but will take quite a while because of platform requirements.
Players can also grab some free rewards. The code HAPPYHALF1014 gives three Compass of Destiny, three Compass of Memory, three Compass of Promise, and one Special Gold Upgrade Stone, and it can be redeemed until November 10 at 11:30 p.m. UTC.
What Mongil: Star Dive Is
Mongil: Star Dive launched worldwide on April 15 for PC, iOS, and Android, with the PC version available through the Epic Games Store and the Netmarble Launcher. Developed by Netmarble Monster in Unreal Engine 5, it is a free-to-play reimagining of the 2013 mobile RPG Monster Taming, which is where the Mongil name comes from in Korean. Combat uses a three-character tag system, and the Monsterling Collection system lets players capture, collect, and fuse monsters to power up their team. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S have been announced for a later date.
Since the game already sells on the Epic Games Store, a team-up with Fortnite is an easy fit for both sides. Fortnite has brought in a long list of anime and game franchises over the years, and a monster-taming RPG with a colorful anime-style cast like Mongil: Star Dive should translate well to Outfits, Back Blings, and emotes, especially if one of the cute Monsterlings ends up as a Sidekick or pet. For now, the companies have only confirmed that the collaboration is coming soon.
Would you pick up a Mongil: Star Dive skin in the Item Shop, or are you more excited about what other collabs Fortnite has lined up next?
