The rumors were true. Epic Games has officially confirmed that One Piece is coming to Fortnite, with the Straw Hat Pirates set to sail into the battle royale as part of a pirate-themed mini-season that closes out Chapter 7.
The official Fortnite account confirmed the crossover with a short teaser featuring a trio of straw hat emojis, which was all fans needed to see to know Luffy and his crew are on the way. Check it out below:
Fortnite Treasure Hunters Starts November 1
Before confirming One Piece, Fortnite revealed the name of its next mini-season, Treasure Hunters. The teaser shows off a treasure map and confirms the mini-season will kick off on November 1, describing it as "The greatest adventure of all!"
A pirate-themed mini-season is a natural fit for One Piece, and the timing makes sense. Players have been spotting hints for weeks, with a mysterious pirate chest turning up on the island and Fortnite's social accounts playing along with the speculation. Back in September, fans first started connecting the dots between the mini-season and the anime.
The Treasure Hunters teaser also appears to hint at more surprises. Players have spotted what looks like the return of Hatsune Miku as a Fortnite Sprite, along with a new Kasane Teto Sprite. Epic has not confirmed either one yet, so fans will have to wait for the full mini-season reveal to know for sure.
Miku first arrived in Fortnite in early 2025 through a collab that tied into Fortnite Festival, so a return would make plenty of fans happy. Pairing her with Kasane Teto would also line up with the music that dataminers say will play around the island's mysterious pirate chest, which includes Teto's "Birdbrain" and Anamanaguchi's "Miku."
What To Expect From The One Piece Collab
Epic has not shared any details about which characters or items will be included. Monkey D. Luffy is almost certain to headline the collab, and it would be a big surprise if Roronoa Zoro, Nami and the rest of the Straw Hats did not show up in some form.
Fortnite's recent anime collabs have gone beyond the Item Shop, with mythic items, quests and map changes inspired by the source material. A Gum-Gum style mobility item or a Thousand Sunny landmark would fit right in with the pirate theme, though nothing has been revealed yet.
It is also unclear whether the skins will be based on the anime, the manga or the Netflix live-action series. Most of Fortnite's past anime crossovers have leaned on the look of the anime, so that seems like the safest bet here.
One Of Anime's Biggest Franchises
One Piece is one of the most successful manga series of all time. Eiichiro Oda's story has been running for nearly 30 years, and the anime adaptation from Toei Animation is approaching 1,200 episodes. The franchise also reached a whole new audience with Netflix's live-action series.
The Straw Hats have appeared in plenty of games over the years, from the One Piece: Pirate Warriors series to Jump Force in 2019 and the recent cooking and restaurant sim One Piece: Grand Gourmet. Fortnite, though, gives the crew a chance to show up in front of one of the largest player bases in gaming.
Another Big Anime Crossover For Fortnite
One Piece joins a growing list of anime collabs in Fortnite, including Dragon Ball, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer. Many of those have been some of the game's most popular crossovers, and One Piece has the potential to be one of the biggest yet.
With the Treasure Hunters mini-season starting November 1, more details should arrive soon.
