The Path of Exile 2 Early Access Supporter Packs are on their way out. Grinding Gear Games has announced that the packs, which have been on sale since the game entered early access, will be leaving the store in a few weeks, and the studio is recommending payment plans for anyone who wants one but cannot pay for it all at once.
The official Path of Exile account shared the news last week.
What GGG Is Offering
In its announcement on the official site, GGG said the current packs will be replaced by five new Supporter Packs. For players who are on the fence, the studio pointed to an option it has offered for years.
"If you're interested in purchasing one of the Early Access Supporter Packs but aren't sure whether you'll be able to do so before they leave the store, we recommend setting up a payment plan," the studio wrote. "This allows you to reserve a pack for up to three months from the start of your payment plan." Players need to email [email protected] in advance to set one up.
GGG also noted that points packs purchased since September 22, 2024, can be merged into a Supporter Pack for up to 80% of that pack's value, so players who have been buying points already have a head start on an upgrade.
The Packs Leaving The Store
The Early Access Supporter Packs include microtransactions for both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2, along with an early access key and points to spend in the shop. The tiers are:
- Entry tier: $29.99
- Lord of Ogham: $59.99
- King of the Faridun: $99.99
- Thaumaturge of the Vaal: $159.99
- Warlord of the Karui: $219.99
- Liberator of Wraeclast: $479.99
The higher tiers come with physical rewards such as T-shirts, hoodies and a 215-page artbook. The top Liberator of Wraeclast pack also lets supporters nominate a unique item for the Twilight Order Reliquary.
Players Are Split On The Approach
The reaction on the official forums has been mixed. Some players feel that announcing a removal without a firm date, while pointing people toward a payment plan, creates pressure to buy. One forum user asked GGG to simply share an exact deadline and described the messaging as FOMO, a common complaint whenever limited items are involved in a live service game.
The other side argues that GGG is being more upfront than most. The studio warned players weeks ahead of time, kept points purchases eligible for upgrades and offers a way to spread the cost over three months instead of asking for hundreds of dollars at once. Several longtime players defended GGG on the forums, pointing to its history of supporter-funded development and the fact that Path of Exile 2 is free to play, with no pack required to enjoy the game.
There is also a practical argument for waiting. Five new Supporter Packs are coming, and some players expect to hear more about them at ExileCon, so anyone who is undecided may prefer to see what replaces the current lineup.
ExileCon And The 1.0 Launch
The timing lines up with a busy stretch for the series. ExileCon 2026 will stream live on November 6 at 12:30 p.m. PST with announcements for both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2, and attendees will have access to more than 60 new pieces of merch.
Path of Exile 2 entered early access in December 2024, and the full 1.0 release is set for December 11, 2026. The end of the Early Access Supporter Packs is one more sign that the early access era is wrapping up, and the new packs will likely reflect whatever the full release brings to Wraeclast.
For players who supported the game during early access, the old packs will stand as a reminder of almost two years of testing, patching and building toward 1.0. For everyone else, the next few weeks are the last chance to pick one up.
Do you see GGG's payment plan suggestion as a helpful option for players on a budget, or does it feel like FOMO pressure to buy before the packs disappear?
