The Ascent is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2. Neon Giant, a KRAFTON studio, dated the port during Nintendo Direct. It is digital-only on eShop as The Ascent Ultimate Edition for $29.99. That price includes the 2021 base game and the three paid packs that already exist on other platforms: Cyber Heist, CyberSec Pack, and Cyber Warrior Pack. Pre-orders open October 5 at 10 percent off, $26.99, through launch. North America goes live at 6:00 p.m. PST. Ten languages ship in the build: English, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese.
This is the handheld piece from a fifth-anniversary roadmap Neon Giant sketched earlier in 2026. The isometric cyberpunk shooter launched July 29, 2021 as the first game from a small Swedish team with Gears of War, Bulletstorm, and Wolfenstein credits in the room. You play a contracted worker in the Veles arcology after The Ascent Group collapses. Twin-stick gunfire, loot, cyberwear, and co-op for up to four. Krafton now says more than 12 million people have dropped into that city.
Cyber Heist is the story add-on. It added missions, new overworld slices (including the Dark Playground tier), melee weapons for the first time, extra guns, and a thread with Kira. CyberSec Pack is loadout: NEWT grenade launcher, Recoil burst rifle, GR00P cluster grenade, Boomblock armor, animated skins. Cyber Warrior Pack is the samurai kit: Brosnan rifle, Interuptor special weapon, PLM22 Surge mine, Feud armor set, Glitch and Ultra skins. Ultimate Edition is those three plus the campaign in one eShop purchase. No separate DLC store crawl on Switch 2 at launch.
November 19, Neon Giant ships a Legacy Patch to the versions people already own on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation. It was also listed last-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in that pass. The note is localization cleanup and fixes already on the bug list, including co-op teleport and save reliability work Krafton talked about in a July update. Those fixes ride into the Switch 2 build so the new platform does not launch on an older code line.
Neon Giant is also building No Law, a first-person cyberpunk immersive sim for 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. Studio leadership told IGN they have a longer franchise plan for The Ascent with Krafton money behind it, we will have to see what that turns out in the future.
No performance targets were in the Direct drop. No handheld docked frame-rate card. No physical print. $29.99 digital is the whole offer. If you already own Ultimate-equivalent DLC on Steam or Xbox, this is a second copy for the couch. If you never finished Veles, October 5 is the cheapest window to get it.
