With just a few weeks to go until the premiere of Lionsgate's Borderlands movie, the studio has released one final trailer for the blockbuster film. An adaptation of the popular video game series, the film follows Lillith, played by Cate Blanchett, as she returns to her home of Pandora on a mission to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the universe's most powerful S.O.B. On her journey, she forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits who must work together to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets.
Directed by Eli Roth (Thanksgiving, Inglourious Basterds), the upcoming film looks like a faithful adaptation of the source material. The latest trailer goes all-in on the action as Lionsgate makes one final effort to appeal to fans of the video game series.
The film features a star-studded cast that includes Cate Blanchett as Lilith, an infamous bounty hunter; Kevin Hart as Roland, a seasoned mercenary; Jack Black as Claptrap, a wise-cracking robot; Edgar Ramírez as Atlas, the universe's most powerful S.O.B.; Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Tina's musclebound protector; and Jamie Lee Curtis as tennis, the oddball scientist who's seen it all.

Lionsgate's Borderlands movie is an adaptation of the video game franchise from Gearbox Software and 2K. The games are set in a space Western science fantasy setting and emphasize chaotic first-person shooter action with a ton of loot.
The series began in 2009 with the release of Borderlands. A sequel, Borderlands 2, was released in 2012, followed by Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in 2014 and Borderlands 3 in 2019. Thre have also been spin-offs, including Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (2022), and Tales from the Borderlands (2014-2015).
The Borderlands series is both a commercial and critical success. It's one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time, and now Lionsgate is hoping this success will translate to the big screen box office.
