The world's favourite blue hedgehog returns for a next-level adventure in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 this April, and after settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. However, he'll be put to the test when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations.
Teaming up with his own sidekick, Tails, together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
During last night's Super Bowl, Paramount Pictures released a "Big Game" TV spot for the highly anticipated sequel. While it does mostly feature familiar footage from this adaptation of the hit video game franchise, we see Sonic and Tails squaring off with the Giant Eggman Robo. That's likely the movie's boss battle, and the stakes have definitely been upped after 2019's impressive effort.
Knuckles also gets his fair share of the spotlight for what promises to be another epic big screen clash.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carry, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to be released in theaters on April 8.
