A live-action
Mortal Kombat movie has been in the works for quite some time - this is as well as an animated one.
It's currently set to release on March 5th, 2021 and be directed by Simon McQuoid. While this will be the first directing credit of McQuoid, James Wan is attached as a producer. Wan is known for directing such films as
Saw,
Insidious,
Furious 7,
Aquaman, and many more. Greg Russo is responsible for penning the film's script.
We haven't heard essentially any information about the
Mortal Kombat movie for quite a while. Thankfully, a new listing by
Project Casting has revealed what Warner Bros. are looking for in terms of the the film's cast.
The listing calls for not only models and actor but also martial arts experts, wrestlers, stunties, combat fighters, cage fighters, boxers, body builders, weightlifters, strong men and strong ladies, as well as anyone who's in extremely good shape and would
"fit into the Mortal Kombat world."
Beyond that you have to be physically fit, we also know that the casting isn't in regards to an extra role. It's also said that producers don't want anybody younger than the age of 25 and they're looking for both male and female applicants. Other than that, the listing simply reveals how to apply and that applications for an extra role will be open on July 19th.
