In Panache Digital Games' first major project,
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, you play as an ape who has to discover, expand, and most importantly, evolve to advance their clan to the next generation. To do that, your in-game avatar will have to eat, drink, and sleep adequately while facing terrible odds, including poisonous snakes, huge boars, deadly crocodiles, vicious birds, and many more.
At its core,
Ancestors is a third-person open-world survival that is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC this year for $39,39, published by Private Division, The brainchild of Take-Two Interactive's Michael Worosz.
The Humankind Odyssey is being directed by Patrice Désilets, one of the masterminds behind Ubisoft's
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the original
Assassin's Creed, and
Assassin's Creed II, so you can be more than sure that
Ancestors will feature at least plenty of trees to climb – but it won't be that automatic, as the humanoid protagonist may accidentally miss the branches you're trying to aim for.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey footage below:
Embark on the most incredible odyssey known to humankind: human evolution. Spanning from 10 million to 2 million years ago, begin your journey, “Before Us,” in Neogene period Africa. Explore a beautiful yet ruthless world, from swinging through tree branches in the jungle to stalking prey across the golden savannah grasslands. Decide what attributes to learn and hone in order to pass down knowledge to future generations, from crafting tools to enhancing evasive tactics against predators. Just like real life, make sure to eat, drink, and sleep to stay alive and have the energy to face any danger that may come your way.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is coming in 2019 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
