ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD I & II DELUXE Gets An Official Release Date For Nintendo Switch And Steam

FreakZone Games and ScreenWave Media have announced that Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch and Steam at the end of the month.

If you're a fan of video games, especially anything retro, chances are that you've heard of the Angry Video Game Nerd, which is an ongoing series starring a nerd, played by series creator James Rolfe, that reviews "sh*tty games that suck *ss"(his words, not mine).

The Angry Video Game Nerd series has been around since 2006, and it has been so successful that in 2013 Rolfe even produced and supervised the development of the official video game — which was simply titled Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures — and a sequel in 2016 in the form of Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation.

Both Angry Video Game Nerd video games are actually quite unforgiving, but that's exactly what mkes them such an interesting challenge for players who grew up torturing themselves playing those unforgiving titles from the 8-bit era, with the difference that the AVGN games are actually pretty well designed; frustratingly difficult, yes, but never almost never unfair.

In January of 2019, developer FreakZone Games announced that they were working on Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe, revealing that this bundle would include both AVGN titles, plus enhanced visuals and new difficulty options. On top of this, level design has been polished even more to give players a less frustrating video game experience.

Recently, James Rolfe himself, on the latest episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd, revealed that Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe will release for the Nintendo Switch and Steam on Friday the 30th of October. He also mentions that the game will launch on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, but the release date has yet to be determined, although he reassures that it will be soon.

Check it out:

The Angry Video Game Nerd has been sucked into Game Land! It's up to you to guide him through three terrible and treacherous retro game worlds! Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures: Remassturd and Angry Video Game Nerd II: Reassimilated come together for the ultimate nerd experience! This is the definitive way to play the series... and more!

The Angry Video Game Nerd I & II Deluxe will release for the Nintendo Switch and Steam on Friday the 30th of October; PlayStation and Xbox release date yet to be determined.
