Balan Wonderworld is the latest title to come from Square Enix, and it is shaping up to be something that looks nothing like the projects the studio has put out in the past. With a much more animated style, the new game looks not to follow the more complicated story beats that can be found in their other franchises like Final Fantasy.
With former Sonic Team head Yuji Naka (lead programmer of the original Sonic the Hedgehog games) at the helm, the game has taken on a surprisingly more animated tone than many probably expected. Because of this, there are a ton of questions about what to expect from the title ahead of its release this coming spring.
Making sure not to unveil too much, the developers have been releasing many trailers and teasers to help paint a picture of what the game will be like. Now, a brand new sneak peek of hte game's first chapter titled, "Chapter 1 The Man Who Rages Against the Storm," has released and shows the ever-changing landscape that this 12 chapter game will hold.
There will be a lot to discover and unlock ahead of the game's release leaving the only question left unanswered being, can you wait until spring? Make sure to check out the trailer below, and don't forget to share your thoughts in the usual spot!
The game takes place in Wonderworld, the mysterious world of people's hearts. When the balance between positive and negative emotions is destroyed, the door to Wonderworld opens. The game follows Leo and Emma, who end up in Wonderworld and meet a maestro named Balan. The two children, with worries of their own, restore the lost balance in the Wonderworld inhabitants' hearts.
Balan Wonderland will release for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 26, 2021!
