The Battletoads franchise hasn't seen a new game being released in over 26 years, which is one of the many reasons why fans got so excited when Rare announced a brand-new game during E3 of 2018, and finally gave fans a first look at the game the next year.
While the announcment trailer for the new Battletoads was more than serviceable, some fans weren't completely sold on the game's new art direction. That's now a thing of the past, since developer Dlala Studios has since released a bunch of proper gameplay trailers that prove the essence of the beloved series has been brought back.
Battletoads may not look like the game that fans had been waiting for, but it does look like it will play exactly like the classic beat 'em up series. On top of this, the developers have also revealed that the game itself will be like a long 30-minute cartoon episode, and the new art style really gives it this feeling of a Saturday morning cartoon.
Recently, Rare — now taking a back seat as the game's developer — has been sharing some behind the scenes videos that see the developers at Dlala Studios revealing some very interesting details about the new Battletoads; how they brought back the toads, and also revealing details about the game's combat.
Today, the people over at Rare have shared a brand-new behind the scenes video for Battletoads, which introduces players to the toads themselves, while also revealing what makes them go on this new journey; a journey that will see them teaming up with their sworn enemy: the Dark Queen.

It's been quite a while – 26 years, in fact – but at long last, the Battletoads are ready to morph, leap and smash their way back into the limelight for an all-new adventure helmed by Dlala Studios and supported by series creator Rare, a partnership first teased during E3 2018's Xbox showcase.
