Control is an action adventure game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games that was originally released in August of last year. Trailers for the game always left players wanting to know more, especially since everything in them looked wonderfulyl surreal.
Upon release, the game was met with fairly positive reviews, so most players were actually rather excited when Remedy Entertainment announced that the game was getting a rerelease in the form of Control Ultimate Edition, which would not only launch for current-gen platforms, but also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Unfortunately, excitment didn't last, since 505 Games revealed that players who purchased the base Control game plus the season pass on current-gen platforms would have to pay again if they wanted to play Control Ultimate Edition on next-gen platforms.
The reason why this was controversial is because Control's season pass gives players the exact same content that Control Ultimate Edition offers, but 505 Games only made the current-gen version Control Ultimate Edition compatible with the next-gen version.
If you are still one of the players who have not been disappointed by any of the above, we have some news that may do the job, as Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control Ultimate Edition will no longer be releasing this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as the game has been pushed back and is now expected to release at some point early in 2021.
For those of you wondering, Control Ultimate Edition on current-gen platforms has been available since the end of August; it is only the next-gen versions of the game that have yet to be released.
According to Remedy Entertainment's announcement, they are making sure to polish some details in order to give players the bext experience possible, and they need more time to do this; thanking players for their understanding and patience.
