Following the outstanding success of last year's
Marvel's Spider-Man, the development team at Insomniac Games is working hard on
Stormland, one of the most unique VR games in recent memory.
At its core,
Stormland is an Oculus Rift exclusive that gives the player a chance to take on the role of a damaged android who has to journey through an ever-changing cloudscape to augment itself and save its friends. Quite interestingly, the colorful game will be fully playable in single-player, but
Stormland will even allow you to team-up with friends to explore an expansive world with
"complete freedom."
In
Stormland, Insomniac will try to bring the traditional structure of first-person open world video games to VR, and the game's latest gameplay trailer that debuted during this year's PAX EAST suggests that the renowned creators of one of the biggest PlayStation exclusives of all time may pull it off.
Be sure to take a closer look at Insomniac Games' upcoming
Stormland in its new trailer
down below:
The Tempest shattered your android body. Now you must journey through an ever-changing cloudscape to augment yourself and save your friends. Explore an expansive world with complete freedom — bound up cliffs, glide across chasms, and fly through the slipstream with velocity. Detonate explosives, harness electricity, and wield makeshift weapons to overcome titanium sentries and monolithic guardians. Play single-player, or explore forgotten ruins together. It’s time to reclaim your world.
Stormland is coming to the Oculus Rift in 2019.
