In October of last year, fans of the classic first-person shooter series Duke Nukem were excited to find out that Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour would be releasing for the Nintendo Switch; no release information was shared, although it was expected that it would be rather sooner than later.

This information wasn't even officially revealed by Gearbox Publishing, actually, as this was unofficially confirmed by the Entertainment Software Rating Board(ESRB) — who rated the game and later removed it from the board; further confirming the fact that it was really happening.

Today we have some great news for those fans of the Duke Nukem series that were excited for the release on the Nintendo Switch, as Gearbox Publishing has finally, and officially announced that Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour will be launching as soon as next week; on Tuesday the 23rd of June, to be precise.

As per the developer, Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour on the Nintendo Switch is being ported by SONKA Games, and will be including some special features, such as gyroscopic aiming, HD Rumble, motion controls, and local wireless multiplayer that allows players to play with their friends.

Besides the exclusive Nintendo Switch features, Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour will also be including every single one of the features from the original version of the game that released for other platforms in 2016 — which include a new episode, new music and one-liners by The Duke, in-game developer commentary, and the ability to play the game with the graphics from Kevin Silverman's Duke Nukem 3D engine.

Gearbox Publishing has also announced that pre-orders for Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour are currently available via the Nintendo Switch eShop at a 50% discount, which sees the game going from a $9.99 to a mere $4.99 for those who choose to pre-order it.

Join the world’s greatest action hero in Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour as he saves Earth once again, saving babes across the globe. Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour will release for the Nintendo Switch on Tuesday the 23rd of June.
