Left Alive is a brand new tactical shooter from Square Enix that's being created by a group of world-famous artists, including Producer Toshifumi Nabeshima (
Armored Core), Art Designer Yoji Shinkawa (
Metal Gear Solid), and Illustrator Takayuki Yanase (
Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Xenoblade Chronicles X).
The Japanese publisher has released a special launch trailer for the upcoming shooter with elements of survival and a strong emphasis on "
exploring the long history of humanity's failures," putting the spotlight on the relentless mecha action. In case you've missed it,
Left Alive is actually set in the
Front Mission universe, giving you a chance to not only fight those towering machines, but even pilot one.
According to Square Enix,
Left Alive's main storyline will be told form the perspectives of Staff Sergeant Mikhail, Police Captain Olga, and Leonid, a troubled ex-solider. What's even better, the spin-off will also feature a New Game+ mode (included at launch) and some
Dark Souls-inspired multiplayer mechanics, giving you a chance to see where other brave players have died. Take a look at the new trailer below:
LEFT ALIVE tells a human story of survival from the perspective of three different protagonists during the devastating invasion set in war-torn Novo Slava in 2127. Experience the massive power gap between man and machine in pulse-pounding encounters: face off against powerfully armed troops, armored vehicles and towering mechs. Uncover the full story behind the war through the eyes of three different characters: as you progress through the game, experience multiple story paths each requiring bold decisions with desperate consequences.
Left Alive will be available for PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) on the 5th of March.
