Gearbox Publishing and Norsfell have announced that they are teaming up to bring players a new action-adventure game in the form of Tribes of Midgard, and they have also released an exciting gameplay trailer to go with the announcement, as well as some in-game screenshots.
But what exactly is Tribes of Midgard? According to the developers at Norsfell, it is a game set in the world of Midgard — which sees players playing as a Viking clan in a world full of creatures and hidden gods, where they will be crafting all kinds of weapons in order to fight some powerful enemies.
What's perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of the game is that players will be able to form tribes from one up to ten other players for some intense co-op gameplay sessions.
Tribes of Midgard encourages players to explore the world of Midgard, in order to find ancient relics, and even materials to forge new equipment to keep their village safe from any dangerous the treacherous Midgard throws at them.
While roaming the world of Midgard, players will also come across enemy camps, and they will have to engage in fierce battles, but they will also stumble upon wandering merchants, and discover some other interesting items out there; again, the game encourages players to explore.
Gearbox and Norsfell still haven't given us an official release date for the game, but they reassure that Tribes of Midgard will become available for the PlayStation 5 and PC at some point in 2021. in the meantime, check out the screenshots and announcement trailer that they have shared down below.

Tribes of Midgard is a new game in which players must resist the oncoming invasion of Giants during Ragnarök.
